Perfectly heartwarming, fluffy, adorable, funny
If you want a wholesome modern romance, this is pretty much the best it gets.Starting with my favorite part — the main ship. I just love the bickering couple dynamic, where the FL and ML always teased and fought with each other, but you could always tell they could handle each other and it was in good fun. They were always there for each other when things got serious. As always, they each had their own backstories and obstacles, and they're smart, strong and independent people — sometimes to a fault — but at the end of the day, they were so realistic and I loved how they grew on each other and grew together. Of course, the jealous scenes are there in abundance on both sides, and they're both funny and satisfying to watch.
In terms of them as individual characters, I also just loved how their individual stories weaved into how they cared for each other. The ML was independent and hard-headed as a team leader should be, but also dealt with the burden of it. The FL was strong and stubborn and a badass when it came to gaming but she also never lost her femininity and the parts about sexism in the gaming industry were actually really well explained.
The friendships were also undoubtedly my second favorite part. It really felt like all the teams had their own identity and their own friendships within the team. The repertoire between teammates was so fun to watch, especially in ZGDX where each supporting character had their own personalities, hobbies, speaking styles, and backstories. I really appreciated seeing different family situations and everyday conflicts that different characters had to deal with, and even though time-wise it might have not been long, I really felt like it helped me get to know them and care about them.
The themes of how celebrities are human too, how professional gamers have their own lives too, was really well shown in a multitude of ways, both through our main leads but also through the secondary ship, which was just as endearing and lovable in their own right. They did a really good job in comparing relationships between gamers (main leads) and with relationships with people outside of gaming and how people in the latter can still love and support each other, that they still are people outside of their work.
To be honest, there are some plot points and conflicts that aren't too well explained, but it still really just feels like everyday conflicts that come up and if anything it makes the characters more real. I just wish more time was spent on developing these plot points.
Another part I really liked is that there's no evil villain character that stays throughout the entire drama and messes everything up. Don't get me wrong, there are people who get in between others or people who try to pursue things the wrong way, but it doesn't mean they're bad people. And the few actually bad people come and go, just like they do in real life.
The acting was pretty good to me (I know some people have taken issue with the FL's acting and called her expressionless, but I'm a pretty expressionless person too so I thought it was realistic and relatable lol). The only thing that was kind of difficult to get through was the dubbing, especially when there was Korean being spoken and it sounded so obviously like a voice actor, but at the end of the day this is just a small thing and I'm not going to drop a rating just for it.
The cinematography is great; the video and audio editing really makes the funny scenes work, and I felt the intensity of all the competition scenes. I'm not a gamer but whew, I was definitely stressed for the characters.
Overall, this was such a gem and it honestly breaks my heart that the rating is so low in China. I'd definitely recommend this to everyone. The ships are adorable, the friendships are fun, and the story is just so inspiring and heart-warming from start to finish. I'm not one to rewatch things from start to finish, but this one definitely feels like one I would.

Loved it the first time, saw it's flaws the second time
I first watched this while it was still airing, years ago. I remember being OBSESSED with it, so much to the point that I considered it my favorite drama out of the hundreds I had watched before. Today I decided to rewatch it and thought it was really bad. Terrible acting on the female leads part, and only 3 episodes in, the leads act like they are in love, with no progression leading up whatsoever. He treats her like she's his girlfriend but before episode 3 we didn't see any clues that he even liked her platonically. It's just so random. I did rewatch 'Lighter and Princess' (my genuine favorite drama) before rewatching this and the difference is like night and day. I'll never get over how good 'Lighter and Princess' is. It perpetually raised my standards for a good story. Lighter and Princess has so much chemistry between the leads and the story is so complex and captivating. In 'falling into your smile' the main story is a bunch of gaming bullshit, and don't get me wrong I love video games especially Dota which is very similar to League of Legends, but the characters are so emotional about the game it's hard to take them seriously. I know for a fact real life professional players aren't this emotional about League of Legends. Its just so pathetic to me that the show makes it a LOL game seem like life or death. Here's what I think would've made the show so much better:
-If they used their real voices and didn't dub it. Using real voices adds so much to the chemistry between the characters and makes the show feel more real to the viewers (obviously)
-Adding more information about the leads inner thoughts. There was no chemistry at the start despite them treating eachother as if they were in love. It just felt so fake and odd. yuck. If there was more inner dialogue, It would've possibly made more sense.
-I'm sorry to say but, Chen Xiao's acting is really bad in this and her expressions are really dry. It looked like she was constantly trying to make sure she looked pretty therefore her face is always stiff, idk. I know she is capable of better acting than this. I thought her acting in 'Lie to love' was so much better than this.
-We don't know enough about the characters, especially the male lead. I can't tell what kind of person the male lead is. Is he more on the cold side, or is he warmer? Because he's cold to almost everybody except the female lead even when they were still basically strangers. I want more information as to why he was so soft towards her when she first joined the team. He held her hand randomly and even showed signs of jealousy in like the 4th episode when he was trying to see the messages between her and her ex. It was so random, I kept wondering if I accidentally skipped an episode.
~FINAL THOUGHT~
If you are 16 and under, you'll probably like it. It's entertaining. At least the first time around. Just don't watch lighter and princess before watching it, or else it will REALLY be unbearable.
I WANT LI XUN AND ZHU YUN BACK 😭🙏

Enjoyed this sweet and fluffy romantic gaming drama.
I enjoyed this drama and I will definitely watch it again and my favourite episodes. I think it was a good adaptation of the novel. Not great as many things were changed and some characters were left out or storylines erased. So I LOVED the novel and liked the drama. They were many things that made me roll my eyes. However overall each episodes made me smile (grin), frustrated and even angry. I really like when a story can bring out different emotions within me.
Loved the gaming all though I do not game and so was happy to see what I read brought to life. It was a cute, fluffy, sweet romance. Not as foolish as some of the dramas I have watched or attempted to watch this year.
So give it a go if you like cute and romantic lead, great friendships and gaming.

Best Male Lead across all dramas I've ever seen
I loved the male lead's personality. Lu Sicheng is quite awesome and the actor is perfect for the role.I love that he is a rascal, the way he teases the main female lead and the way he falls inlove with her.
I also enjoyed the e-sports theme even though it's my first time watching something with this theme.
I started watching because of some short youtube clips taken from the drama, where the main lead is all lovey dovey with the female lead. I LOVE his personality.
Best male lead personality archetype ever as far as I am concerned. No love triangles. No angsty drama. Just their world and how they fall inlove. But mainly for me, Lu Sicheng (main male lead) is the reason why I started watching this drama, why I finished it and why I would rewatch it in the future.
If everything would've been the same but Lu Sicheng's personality would've been different, I wouldn't have been as interested.
Perfect mix of good looks, teasingness, playfulness and rascalness. I'm smitten with this character.

Fluffy typical lighthearted Chinese romcom
When will I ever fully finish a c-drama??This edition, I tried out this e-sports romcom, since shuai ge Xu Kai is in it. While I give props to myself for watching 11 episodes, I soon had to skim my way to the end. The episodes felt really mundane. Game, competition, go home, and that cycle repeats.
There's some life lessons I managed to sneak a peek at, like how pro gamers are public figures too, and they can't have control of their privacy. Teamwork was also prevalent. I didn't expect random Korean throughout the drama, but there was plenty of Korean dialogue in here.
The romance was...disappointing. The chemistry is off the charts, let me clarify. But, the girl is very stiff. She was avoiding her feelings for him the whole drama. She was also pretty much "threatened" into the relationship with him (red flags!). Even when they were dating, she was really nonchalant with him, and meanwhile, the male lead becomes SUPER forward. Like hello secretly horny ass, can we take a moment to process this change in personality first? He was so cringe. Again, cute chemistry as actors. But the characters, questionable.
The only amazing thing about this drama, I would think, is the side characters! I love the rest of the e-sports team. They add a lot of comedy relief to the whole drama, that the drama would not nearly be as good without them.

Recommended Cdrama, you'll feel different emotions
It easily caught my interest to watch because of the story and the way they act, it's really look like natural. The way they show their feelings just through their facial expressions and movements. I just found myself laughing and being inlove while watching this cdrama. I've been addicted to watch this, I already watched it three times, OMG i still feel their chemistry. I also love the OST that they used like soulmate and Heroes it's WOW. I am one of those wishing for their SEASON 2 with the same cast. We are hoping for it huhuhu. I love it❤️ Pleaaaaaaseeeee come backkkk ZDGX!!!!Esta resenha foi útil para você?
Everything’s worth watching!
Did not have much expectation at the start but all my thoughts went out right away. Amazing cast - the good looks and good acting, not too cringe, amazing music, everything’s just amazing about it! Though it had its controversies, but all in all, it is a drama and especially tied to romance. Of course, there are some parts that are not reality, but it’s alright for me as it is just a drama that’s meant to just give you the feel-good vibes. It’s a light-hearted rom com and it’s the kind of stories I like. Does not give me stress watching the show hahahah! Finished it within 3 days!
Having serious withdrawal problems now that I’ve finished the series 😭 Looking forward to the next drama with Xu Kai 💕

Don't. Hesitate. Anymore.
Well, I don't really put any expectations for the drama because the synopsis doesn't sound that fun. BUT........1) it's a very stress-free show
The main couple tease each other a lot and will definitely make you smile. It touch the "e-sport and gender" issue in a great way, the girl is fearless, the boy is supportive. They are a lot of funny moment too.
2) the story itself
The story flow is great, not too fast and not too slow. It's also involve friendship, lover, ex lover, public figure life, a professional gamers life and more. Their friendship is the best in the drama world idc!!!! Hehe.
3) the friendship
Omg, I just love how the other player tease the couple (which happen to be their captain and mid player) everytime they get the chance. They also very hardworking and supportive to each other. Of course there are sometimes when things go south, but still, their friendship remain strong. I literally cry at 1 scene about their friendship (if you want to know, go watch this drama<3333)
4) the couple
NO misunderstanding.
NO silly breakup.
YES healthy relationship
YES supportive bf/gf
YES sweet couple
YES diabetes! Hehe
The couple is fearless, hardworking, sweet, brave and superior! I just love how the bf always there for the girl and when needed, he always give advices to the girl instead of just saying sweet things. The girl too, is like a girl version of the boy? But a bit softer ;} They are passionate both in love and in games! They will never let their relationship interrupt their games performance and vice versa. They still going strong even after their relationship get exposed. They are the best couple ever. Thanks to this drama script writer <33
5) e sport
If you a fan of mobile legends, just go for it. The game they are playing is kinda similar to ml. It shows that e sport isn't as simple as just playing games. E sport is faith. E sport is something you can definitely work on.
Bonus :
• a lot of handsome actor
• teach you some life lesson
• they make the game in animation too as if you are in the game's map
• the parents for both party are nice
• there are some good ost
Anyway, this drama definitely make you feel so single (that's me actually ;p). If you decide to watch it, remember, you will have hard time to stop watching it and then you realize you already on the 31 episode ;(
Last but not least, I MISS THIS DRAMA ALREADY. Okey done. Bye bye.
P/s : I'm having a hard time to move on from this cheng-yao couple huhu

So much more than a rom-com
May contain some spoilers. To be honest, I am not too sure why this drama is often simply categorized as a rom-com and nothing more. This drama dwells into relatable real-world issues in a realistic way without overdoing it and going off tangent from the main story line. These include:
- The struggle of separating work and love life and compromising with each others interests (mainly on the secondary couple, which I felt was very well done),
- The instability of public opinion, how it can easily be manipulated, twisted, and flipped with just one post,
- The struggle of being a public figure, apologizing for something one's fans committed and not oneself,
- Prejudice against women,
- E-sports being downgraded to 'not being a real sport' with people not seeing the struggles and hard work pro gamers put into their career,
- The importance of good leadership and communication within a team,
- and so on.
Many rom-com dramas also deal with real-life issues to some extent, but only mainly deals with issues regarding the main couple and obstacles of them being together. Falling Into Your Smile goes beyond this. Yes, there are some issues that act as barriers for the main couple getting together. But it does not ignore issues that side characters have had to face and the bigger issues that surround it. The story gives them appropriate development and portrays these issues well.
In fact, every event that happened in this drama is important to moving the story forward and I really appreciate the lack of filler scenes (except for the purpose of comedy, which I personally think is important for the development of the main couple). The story had a relatively even flow throughout. While some e-sports portrayals were not completely accurate, hence the backlash from the Chinese gaming community, I would say that the portrayals of surrounding issues were done so well that it really makes up for it. In addition, I have played similar games to the game being featured in this show so about 80% of the time, I understood what was happening in the game. If you want to know more of the in and outs of 5v5 MOBA gaming and the gaming industry, maybe this show won't help you much. It will give you a taste. I would say King's Avatar did a better job in talking about the pro gaming industry and such. However, the gaming scenes were short enough so that the general audience can avoid getting bored if they don't understand what is happening, so I appreciate the editing of the gaming scenes and only focused on more of the important events. About the romance, it was great. While I do feel that there is too many kissing scenes in some episodes, I feel that it was justified for the following episodes all had a really serious tone so it kept the balance.
The acting needs to be good in order for a drama with a well-written storyline to reach its full potential. While not all of the acting performances are great, the majority of them were outstanding. I was shocked at how well many of the side actors acted. Special mention to the ex-boyfriend of the Female Lead whose emotional performance touched my heart deeply. I also really appreciated Fatty's facial expressions. He had me dead on the floor in every scene where he had the unfortunate fate of witnessing the main couple in an awkward situation. But almost every supporting actor and actress did their role justice. I actually formed a connection with most of the supporting cast in the process and I really feel sad to part ways with them in the final episode. This is a testament to their acting skills. In terms of the main roles, Xu Kai does not disappoint. I have only heard of good things from him and I can definitely see where his fans are coming from. He perfectly plays his character with impressive subtlety. Xu Kai IS Brother Cheng. He lives and breaths his role. I will definitely follow his other dramas because of how impressed I am with his performance here. Meanwhile, Cheng Xiao was not terrible but in comparison to almost every actor and actress in this drama, she is not on the same level. Her eyes are often lifeless and her stiffness is apparent in many of their earlier scenes. However, I can definitely see her potential because she had some great moments and her visuals are very suitable for the main role. Admittedly, she improved as the drama went on. Additionally, since she was an idol before she was an actress, I can understand why she does not keep up with the rest of the cast. But to be fair, the acting rating went down to 9.5 mainly because of her mediocre performance, despite her improvement. Overall, the acting of this drama is top-notch and the set of casts they got was amazing. Xu Kai especially. The chemistry between Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao was obvious and it helped save her middling performance.
The music was really nice overall. Not too memorable but it was pleasant to listen in the moment.
Because of how purposeful each event felt in this drama, I can easily watch this from beginning to end, hence the perfect score of re-watch value.
Overall, I would highly recommend this drama. Don't miss it, it is definitely worth a watch.
