Did someone say plot twist?!!!
"Sweet & Sour" could have been a better movie but sadly everything that makes it good is packed into the last 15 minutes. If "Got emm" was a movie, this would be it, but don't waste your time trying to guess what will happen. Sadly the twist at the end is the payoff for enduring the rest of the movie, which was a struggle for me. The majority of this movie is about a bad relationship, but we don't get a chance to really fall in love with the couple or the characters first so it was hard to care and not just be frustrated at the repetitive problems and fights. It honestly felt like a waste of actors that I normally really like and that's the most disappointing part.I am a fan of Chae Soo Bin (since I am not a Robot), but I felt cheated out of getting the chance to actually get to like Da Eun. In the beginning her weirdness is interesting but once the story focuses on the relationship everything is about Jang Hyuk's new job and changing perspective and as much as I like Jang Ki Yong he is not likable in this role at all. Yes, both actors do a decent job with showing a "realistic" relationship but they don't have the chemistry nor are they interesting enough to keep the story engaging. Krystal as Bo Young is meant to add some exciting rivalry and chemistry to the story but her performance was too one note for me. In this case the character seemed better written than acted out. She wasn't horrible but I was far from impressed.
The one high rating I have for this drama is rewatch -ability. Once I saw the end I wanted to watch it all again from the beginning with a new perspective. Unfortunately, the majority of the movie would still be mediocre. The retro synth music makes it even cheesier. Also, it's really hard to make scenes interesting when so many of them require reading text messages.
Overall I get why this movie would be popular and highly recommended but that doesn't mean it's good. There are certain things that are never explained (like why was the mysterious wingman constantly messed with the lights lol) and too many work is sooo hard scenes, but by the end I didn't regret watching it and could appreciate the writing more, plus I'm curious about the book it's based on. Maybe if this was a drama instead we could have gotten to know and like the characters enough to make the plot have a stronger impact but this movie felt like it was rushed AND like it dragged simultaneously. With a title like Sweet & Sour I expected this to be less bland.
Still, maybe with different expectations, this movie may suit your taste. I'd prefer more spice!

Not a romantic comedy at all!
I did not like this show. No where was it a romantic comedy or even close to what they showed in the trailer. The guy was a total creep for what he did to her. Looks like she never changed because she is taking another guy to the same places she went with the ex. Also buying the same shoes as she did for the jerk! Also, she is dating someone with almost the same name! Sad that the cycle started all over for her. I feel bad for the new guy because he seemed sweet and does not realize he is a stand in for the last guy. The ex could not decide who he wanted in the end and was a shallow jerk. But on the other hand she was no better.
Acting was good! I have seen the two mains in other shows and liked them both. That was one of the only thing I liked about this movie.
If this is what modern relationships are like... PASS! I feel sorry for people. No loyalty at all! I guess I am just a bit old fashioned.
Rewatch? Nope and if I do it will be a VERY VERY long time.

What Real Life Relationships are “Sweet and Sour”
First and foremost I feel a lot of k-drama viewers want that ROM-COM happy feeling, happy ending for it to be considered a great K-drama. So if that’s how you feel a k-drama should be in your book than that’s completely understandable and you will probably miss out on a great “real life” everyday sort of vibe from this movie. All the actors brought each of their characters personalities and feelings out great.
If you’ve ever been in a relationship where it’s on the outs and meet someone unexpectedly that sort of “fills in or starts to replace” what you’ve been missing or need in life . Than you will completely understand Chae Soo-bin’s character Da-eun, she’s the one most audiences will side with first. She portrayed a girl who just wants to be loved and can easily be loved.
Than theirs Krystal she really made it hard to dislike her, she was funny with out really trying to be funny if that makes sense. It’s not like she was trying to steal someone else’s boyfriend either because she really didn’t know.
Finally that brings us too Jang-Hyuk who I thought was the same person the whole time until the last 5 mins than I was like “ooooooooooo that’s why” 😂 any film that can “mind F@#$” you until the end is always going to be a 10 in my book. It’s like a great magic trick ..even though most won’t admit they think magic is cool 😎 but you will still be amazed if the trick is good.
My final thoughts are I honestly see “Sweet and Sour” being “real life problems and relationships” to everyday people who are to busy for each other or have that temptation from other suitors. Even though none actually cheated in the film it’s the whole trust and temptation that really can ruin a relationship and how easy someone else can step in if your not careful and cherish the one you truly love.

Too big of a disappointment!!
I was very very excited for the movie since the casting was so strong but it left me in splits. From the start it was okay but by the mid it lost everything. I didn't even take 30 minutes to complete the movie. And the end was confusing. If you want to understand the movie, you need to watch it again, which I couldn't do definitely!
And also, the man was a piece of shit!!
The visuals were good but sadly can't say the same about the plot 🤦
Now, if you want to watch the movie you should. Don't mind my review because not everyone have the same taste.
