One of Mah Faves!
Honestly, when I started this series, I thought it was going to be totally cliche without any spark in it. After continuing the series, I was completely dead wrong. This series brought freshness to the BL world. PLUS this series got most of us through covid.I loved how they focused on Tine at first and then secretly opened up more about Sarawat. Especially when sarawat revealed the video he tried so hard not to show tine of him being happy that he found him again.
The music plays perfectly on scenes that fit the meaning of each song, which was well done! I literally listen to the soundtrack every day, lol.
I've rewatched this series 3 times and the sequel 2 times and might add on 1 more to both, because I love this series so muches. PLEASE watch this series with an open mind and not because of people's reviews of it~

Bit awkward
Idk man.I kinda had high expectations for this series, considering how many people talk about it, but... the popularity really doesn’t meet it. BrightWin is, apart from the holy trinity, one of the most shipped in gmmtv, yet I can’t see much chemistry between them? It could be bc they’re young and therefore not that comfortable as TayNew for example.
Well, the storyline at first also felt very forced. The way they tried to give Tine and Wat moments to meet up, gave me 2nd hand embarrassment. The characters all sharing one brain cell, got really on my nerves. Especially bc gmmtv can do better than that. It got better in the end and the flashbacks of Sarawat are a plus, but overall it’s kinda meh.
Overall the series reminded me of tharntype more than it should... except for the sexual assault at least, but since there wasn’t much story, I missed the kiss scenes. TineWat didn’t seem like a couple at all, and it made me cringe a few times.
I do however love how they created a world where gay relationships are treated just as hetero relationships. No drama about being confused about one’s sexuality, no drama about coming out, no drama about announcing you’re in a same-sex relationship. 👏 (Which is the only reason why it gets 2 stars more.)
-26.11.21
Ps: I don’t mind to have romantic relationships with no sexual content, as not every romance is sexual as well. That’s totally fine. However, here, it was often enough implied they do have sexual attraction to each other, and do want to do physical stuff, but every time it got to the mood, it suddenly cut off. And the actors simply didn’t have much romantic chemistry either, their intimate (non-physical) scenes rather felt awkward.

Overhyped you say? NAURR
This was my first ever call for any sort of LGBTQ+ series. I watched it while it was airing like the second last episode maybe..? not sure nvm. I was randomly going through the reviews and saw how many negative ones are there- And for that I couldn't resist myself from writing something in defense...Mostly people call this 'overhyped', if you are into bl a long before this aired then sure, I too admit that if I were you I would have reacted the same way. But as someone who for the first time ever say two men out of nowhere be in a relationship and KISS I freaked out lol. Before that I had no idea something like this existed too. Trust me and I am not embarrassed to say this cause that's the environment I grew up in. Here, still, this is regarded as a disease among the elders (new genzs not included ofc) And for that I am so grateful that this was the first thing I watched. Let me be precise, there must be a reason why for many of us this is the first bl series and can't just be hyped for no reason right?
For the answer, let me say that this is the exact kind of story, genre, environment, and cast (lol) for someone's first... No one will (at least I won't) like watching TharnType or Manner of Death or maybe Kinnporsche as their first thing into a total new sexual oriented community. This one has that slow, lovely and warmly coded atmosphere that made me feel at home in a total new world... I am so lucky that they made such a series because since then I became an active Lgbtq ally myself and could throw the hell of narrow-minded homophobic hypocrites away from me lol.
And lastly, how can I not love this when this introduced me to my one and only man (thai (let me pretend Ohm Pawat is not here)) Win Metawin 5555

Salah Satu ????????? Per-BL-an
NILAI TONTON ULANG:
Tonton ulang beberapa kali masih oke, terutama untuk mengetahui sudut pandangnya si Sarawat. Series ini sebagian besar ambil perspektifnya Tine. Coba aja tonton ulang dari awal lagi setelah tahu akhirnya gimana, setelah tahu perasaannya Sarawat.
KESELURUHAN:

Light hearted BL
This is the most popular BL Thailand every produced. The reason - 1. Good looking leads, it's ridiculous how good looking they are (ii) Light hearted, easy to watch and simply sweet- VERY HIGH REPEAT VALUE. To be honest, this is not my favorite show in terms of plot but i can simply rewatch any episode at ease because it's really easy to watch, not forgetting its funny. Can i just say wtf is wrong with the last episode. Totally makes no sense. So the entire competition only had 2 bands competing and Sarawat can just confess on stage and they ended off with a hi-5. They acted as if the competition was Oscars.. And Mil lost, so he can be with Phukong? Ok?????
Acting wise - much can be improved. The stand out in this show is Green. I might be cancelled for this but Bright needs to work on having more expressions.
Music wise - Absolutely fantastic - all of them are already in my spotify.
Plot wise - Typical BL, nothing special.
Chemistry between leads - Pretty underwhelming and poor vs other couples you see out there (OffGun, EarthMix). THey progressively become more and more awkward.

Simple Yet Effective
I believe that the series has a simple premise (hopefully) and as a person from a country that does not have much of these kind of stories, I laud the producers and the artists for doing a great job. It is my own opinion that sometimes a story does not have to be original, nor complicated, nor too realistic for it to effectively entertain. Sometimes, light and simple storytelling is enough. This series is becoming more interesting. The acting is on point, the comedic timing is on point, the gestures are on point and the way Sarawat looks at Tine says it all. It keeps me wanting for more and probably after it has ended I will be with those who wanted another season. One will eventually wonder what will happen years after they've become official.I have read few chapters of the story translated to the English language and I have noticed some departures made but those do not bother me at all because I believe that the changes do not really affect the flow of the depiction in the series. We should remember that in the novel, the reader what the protagonist especially Tine thinks and feels. In the series, we can only see it in their expressions and gestures and we should be thankful that the actors as so good in portraying their characters.

Wasted Potential
Writing reviews to cope with watching shows that started off on a good, promising start but gradually got worse over time? It's more likely than you think. No but in all seriousness, the fact that I started this show towards the end of December 2021/early January 2022 and STILL to this day, can barely bring myself to finish it says a lot. Because if you told me, the person who was up at 6:00 in the morning during winter break feeling completely blown away by how great the chemistry between the two leads in episodes 1-6 was, that the rest of the episodes would be nowhere near as good, I wouldn't have believed you. I mean how could I? The story was sweet, lighthearted, and romantic, and the acting from Bright and Win was pretty believable and convincing. I mean the sparks were flying through the screen for God's sake! But alas, all good things had to come to an end, and episodes 7-11 (Around the time Tine and Sarawat started dating for real if I remember correctly) happened. Like I know what you're thinking. That doesn't make any sense. How could the show get worse if they're finally dating for real now? Weren't you rooting for them? Well lemme tell you.In my opinion, one of the biggest reasons why I think the quality of the show really started to go downhill when Tine and Sarawat became official is because to me, it felt like the writers didn't know what to do with Tine and Sarawat's relationship once all the tension and pining was out of the way. It seemed as though they focused so much on building those things up, that they didn't put enough thought into where to take Tine and Sarawat's relationship after. In other words, what I'm trying to say is that at this point, the story began to lack some much needed direction, AND IT SHOWED. Case and point? The mess that was the whole love square of drama with Mil and Tine and Sarawat and Pam. Like look I get it. Couples are going to face obstacles, things are going to test them, but did we really need that? No. It was super unnecessary, like almost Korean Boys Overs Flowers levels of unnecessary drama (If you know you know). Not only that, it was just plain frustrating to watch, especially knowing how much potential 2gether had early on. Had the writers just stuck to Tine and Sarawat's development as a couple and how they grow with one another as people now that it's no longer fake dating, there's almost no doubt in my mind the episodes following episode 6 would have ended up being a thousand times better than they were.
Another thing. The chemistry. I really don't know exactly what happened to it because it was genuinely amazing at first (Some people say the scenes towards the end of the show were the first ones the cast filmed so maybe that's why?), but without even bringing up the high five scene, I can certainly agree that it was off in the last few episodes. And because it was off, I think that was also why the quality of the show declined when Tine and Sarawat actually became a thing, as ironic as that sounds. All in all, it's a shame cause I initially did enjoy this series quite a bit. So much so, if it hadn't turned out the way it did, I would have rated it a lot higher.
TLDR: Fake dating stories, just like angst, are good, but only if done properly, the writing in the second half of 2gether is truly my villain origin story, and although this show was a letdown, I'm glad it introduced to me to Scrubb.

Okay. So this is my FIRST impression on this movie..*Their chemistry is 1000/100
*They're fucking good looking
*The story from 1-9 is full of sweetness and "kilig" moments.
Now, upon finishing the whole series, I was kinda disappointed. I feel sorry for Win and Bright for this but the story is not that entertaining from Ep. 10 to end, if I'm not mistaken. The story was fast-paced that there's like a lot of unclear scenes that needs to be addressed.
And because of the story of the series, their chemistry starts to fade, this is only my own opinion, okay? I can't longer see them as couples but as brothers. Like, there's no spark on them from Ep.10 or I think Ep.11 ..
If ever they're going to make another series for this, they need to think a better story to bring back their chemistry as couples. Seriously, I'm really, really disappointed on who ever made the story. And I really feel sorry both Win and Bright. I hope people will still like them and disregard the series.
Again, I swear, the story is disappointing and not the actors.

Beautiful Cast, Great Stories, Weak on Romance
Thai film schools turn out some great cinematographers and "2gether" is no exception, with stunning visuals, augmented by a beautiful cast. But the audio production of these dramas always leaves a lot to be desired. A common flaw is the body microphones that get bumped on any kind of physical contact. In this series, all of this could have been pretty easily fixed as there was rarely any important dialogue going on. In Hollywood they do extensive ADR and foley replacement to fix these gaps. It really takes you out of the moment when you hear mics bumped and clothes rustling. Another problem with the sound is mixing background music with in-scene music that's in an incompatible musical key. Who thought that was a good idea? Anyway, with that out of the way, "2gether" was one of the most enjoyable BL dramas I've seen. Other reviewers have pointed out that we never get to see much physical intimacy in this one, and that's a shame because the rest of the drama is firing on all cylinders. But I'm going to give the producers a pass on this criticism because I suspect this is a nod to commercial pressures to play down anything that feels "too gay" for a conservative audience. Aside from the one rather stereotypical ("fem") guy, its refreshing to see bromances portrayed without much gender role baggage. I think this is a first step to transitioning a mainstream audience to higher levels of romantic bromance in the future. Overall, a solid 8.5 due to passionate performances by all of the key actors and good direction.Esta resenha foi útil para você?
